Sir Kyffin Williams

Artists

(1918 - 2006)

Perhaps the defining Welsh painter of the twentieth century, who lived on the island of Anglesey in Wales. The National Library of Wales holds the largest single body of his work, with work also at the National Museum of Wales.
He is said to have modelled for Ivor Roberts-Jones statue of Winston Churchill now in Parliament Square. His artistic vision was incredibly distinct and his work is immediately recognisable. A seminal contribution to the record of the Welsh landscape.
