Ronald Ossory Dunlop was an Irish author, poet and masterful painter of landscapes and portraits. He often worked the canvas with a pallet knife rather than a brush and as such developed a highly impastoed and distinct style.
Dunlop achieved considerable commercial success during his lifetime and he frequently exhibited at the Royal Academy.
Additionally his work can be viewed in a number of museums and galleries including the Tate Gallery and National Portrait Gallery. He was elected to the Royal Academy in 1950.
