Lionel Bulmer

Suffolk artist Lionel Bulmer studied at the Royal College under Ruskin Spear, Carel Weight and Charles Mahoney. Here he met his partner Maragaret Green and the two became inseperable.
Bulmer and Green lived in a cottage above the River Rat and both developed highly recognisable techiques, though they were very distinct from one another.
They loved the beaches at Aldeburgh, Walberswick and Southwold and painted them frequently along with other landscapes and Green's celebrated paintings of interior scenes.
