(1893 - 1977)

Painter of exquisite landscapes (for example 'The Cornfield' at The Tate) and prodigeous illustrator, particularly botanical.
Paul Nash (John's older brother) somehwat outshined him during thier lifetime but recently John Nash has experienced a strong revival in his own right, with his landscapes in watercolour selling strongly in auction rooms. John Nash lived with his wife at Bottengoms Farm in Wormingford Essex and together with other local artists like Eric Ravilious and Sir Cedric Morris played a major role in the development of Modern British art.
